A senior government spokesperson said that since the 20th constitutional amendment is scheduled to be debated and passed next week, the government MPs and Ministers have been barred from travelling overseas.

Reports say that yesterday President Maithripala Sirisena informed this to the SLFP MPs and Ministers representing the Government while the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had informed MPs and Ministers representing the UNF regarding this rule.

The 20th constitutional amendment is scheduled to be debated and passed in parliament on 20th this month.
