Brand New Trailer for Star Wars: 'The Last Jedi' sends Fans into Frenzy!
The Newly Released Official Trailer for the upcoming Star Wars film has generated mass hysteria online, with fans already dissecting every single frame of the nearly 2½-minute clip.
Star Wars:' The Last Jedi' is the hotly anticipated follow-up to 2015’s The Force Awakens, which grossed more than $US2 billion ($2.57 billion) globally.
Star Wars: 'The Last Jedi' is due to hit cinemas theatres this Christmas, and the first look at the Disney film lobbed on Twitter on Tuesday, garnering tens of thousands of retweets within a matter of seconds.
Although the clip is relatively spoiler-free, director Rian Johnson, who took over the reins from *The Force Awakens’ *director JJ Abrams, actually warned diehard fans against watching it.
“If you want to come in clean, absolutely avoid it,” he tweeted.
For those not worried about knowing the broader plot points of the film, the trailer shows protagonist Rey (Daisy Ridley) training with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) seemingly facing off with his mother, Leia Organa (played by the late Carrie Fisher) in a force moment, and Poe (Oscar Isaac) and Finn (John Boyega) fighting against the First Order.
Of course, fans are also feeling nostalgic over the appearance of Fisher, who passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest in December 2016, shortly after she reprised her iconic 1977 role for the filming of The Last Jedi.
“We had to deal with tragedy at the end of 2016. Carrie appears throughout [Episode] VIII,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said after her death.
“We are not changing VIII to deal with her passing. Her performance remains as it is in VIII. In Rogue One, we had some digital character. We are not doing that with Carrie.”
