WhatsApp to soon support group video calls on Android

WhatsApp is one of the widely used messaging platforms across the world. Recently, it was announced that the platform has over 1.5 million monthly active users. The Facebook-owned company is rolling out many new updates to the platform in order to enhance the user experience. However, it has been missing one feature that is available in many other similar platforms and it is the group video calling support.

As per WABetaInfo, the group video calling support will be rolled out to the Android users initially. Later, this feature will be made available to the iOS and Windows 10 Mobile platforms too. With this new feature, the Android users of WhatsApp can enjoy group video calling but the catch is that the video calls will involve a maximum of four participants.

Latest beta version for Android The post claims that the group video calling feature will be rolled out with the Android beta version 2.18.39. On updating to this beta version, the Android users of WhatsApp can add up to three people in an ongoing video call thereby bringing this number up to four. This feature will definitely be a boon to many WhatsApp users who were looking forward for the group video calling support.

Here’s how to add more participants On receiving the support for group video calls, WhatsApp users can see an ‘Add Person' icon at the top right corner of ongoing video calls. This feature could be limited to the video calls for now. However, there is a possibility that the platform will also rollout group voice calls support in the future.

Interesting new features WhatsApp recently launched WhatsApp Business app for the Android users to help the small business users engage with their consumers. Also, the platform is expected bring the mobile payments platform with a new feature called WhatsApp Pay. This feature is likely to be launched later this month. As the company has 200 million users in the country, the rollout of these features will be beneficial for the users. These are not the only features that WhatsApp has got to rollout to the users as the company testing many new features on a consistent basis.
